CAS TRIBUTE 2010

Tribute is a commemoration which given to the graduating students of College of Arts and Sciences before they finally march out the four corner of the school. It is a close door celebration for the third year and forth year students of CAS and of course all the officers of the lower year.

Finally, now that we are the graduating students of CAS and we received the tribute from the third year students (thank you third year students and other lower year students) for giving this night to us and of course to all the faculty members, all the chairperson of every discipline and the dean of CAS to make this night possible.



Rain or shine the night must go on they said, yes it’s true.... honestly I already expect that we’re not complete ( the ba comm students) this night because some of us have work, busy, don’t have a dress to wear (is this big deal? Maybe to other) or simple won’t like to attend. I am one of them in the first place but when I realized that this event will not going to happen again I decided to attend and enjoy the last activities of my college life. This night was a combination of happiness and sadness. Happiness, because if you where there and know that you are one of the graduating students you can feel that you slowly reaching the final step of college life. What you also witness in the party are students and teachers wearing different colorful dresses, the presentation, dinner, picture taking, and the party proper, dancing and party people they said. Knowing that this will be the last party that we are in the company of the lower year. Sadness, since were the graduating students we feel that the slowly reaching the final step of college life, I also sense that were going to leave the four corner of our school and were going to face our own journey after the graduation and of course by this were going to leave not just our school but our teachers, schoolmates, classmates, enemies and friends, but it doesn’t mean we’re going to end the communication of course not as long as there is a chance. I know that this night will become a memory, memory that I will bring and be part of my life. This is the reason why I want to be there and won’t like to neglect the last activities (CAS TRIBUTE 2010) of my college life. I will honestly tell you guys that I enjoy the night no matter I was not surprise with the presentation but I really like it. Asking why? Simply, I already watch it and it was made by our classmate. What I expect is the presentation made by the lower year but its okay. What done is done.

RECOLLECTION

Recollection is one activity in every school but there are some school didn't do this kind of activity. This time where going to reminiscence our past moments and think for our future. Realizing the things happened to us whether good or bad and the people who become part of our life.

Now that we are conducting our recollection, in fact I'm also thinking if I will be attending or not. But I choose to attend because there is nothing wrong in attending. I’m not thinking that this is just a requirement to us, as graduating students since this activity is requirement to us still we have our own decision in our self, but for me it’s not just a requirement but an obligation as a student, like what I’ve mention earlier this activity is part of our school activities, in fact when we are elementary and secondary we have this. And most of us attend their recollection or to other their retreat right? Me, I also attended my elementary recollection but during my secondary recollection I wasn’t there. I was with my family in Doha Qatar. And now in my tertiary level I choose to be there in our recollection because as far as I have this chance to experience I grab it and do my obligation not just as a student but as an individual.

Before I went in the place where we are having our recollection, we are inform where it will be held but not the exact room, so when we reach the place me and my friend Jenny come across what room. When we finally got it, it seems so boring especially if you are not interested but I’m not saying that I’m not interested in this. Our recollection was lead by Rev. Fr. Allan. But later on all the things that we’ve discuss, heard, watch and share is meaningful. You will realize the things you’re doing, thinking if your enough matured to have your own life,decide with your own, and your plan in life and of course about the people around you.

It sad to say that before our recollection ends we become a small number of because I know some of the students there are not interested to finish it, and say that “I already signed my attendance it’s okay”, “yah I saw what are we doing there it just like that” or should other say “it just a recollection and it is not big deal if we are not there”. Although we become a small number of before it ends it seems meaningful to me different from my first impression that it is dull. And of course it will not pass by without learning and realizing new things. By that I can say that I learned new things .032310/9:00am-5:45pm
